Tactile Transducers for Gaming?

Most gamers are aware of game chairs in the $400-500 range as they have been in the gaming marketplace for years now.  Even some of the lower end chairs out there may not even have a tactile transducer in them.  What is a Tactile Transducer you ask?   Think of a tactile transducer as a sub woofer without the boom, or taking up any space.  It’s basically the same technology in your cell phone when it vibrates is similar to a Tactile Transducer mounted to your chair chair or couch,  but just on a grand scale.   You figure if you’re not running a few transducers in your gaming rig that you are definitely missing out on the true game experience.   As humans we’re always relying on our senses such as sight, sound, and feeling to experience anything.  And as gamers, being that gaming is such as sensory intensive experience, we need to focus more on the “feel” of our favorite titles.   This is sometimes overlooked by most players.   If you have had the opportunity to visit Universal Studios or some of the flagship IMAX theaters, than you have felt earth move below you when watching the Space Shuttle take off for blast off, or behind the wheel of a grand prix race car at 200 mph in the IMAX movie SPEED.  What we felt below our seats was a  Clark Synthesis Tactile Transducer that is powered by an amplifier(s) in the control room. Everyone in the theater was on the edge of their seats as a massive rumble below us shook us silly as if we were the one’s actually in the cockpit seat.  As technology progressed over the years,  the hardware required for this same technology became available for us gamers at home.  Now our favorite chairs and couches for home theater and game setups could be fitted, just starting at just $55 on up to $425 per transducer.   Ultimately price depends on the amount of “force” or impact we desire.  Transducers require an amplifier channel from your home audio receiver, or separate outboard amp that runs axillary to your home theater amplifier.  The best brands out there is Clark Synthesis and the Aura Bass Shakers. For those who have tried tactile transducers in their game setups they know now they would never play without them. There is so much low frequency information just waiting to be unlocked in all of today’s current games such as Blur, Red Dead Redemption , Call of Duty, and UFC Undisputed 2010, etc.  All of these current titles are exploding with engine rumbles,  3D gun shots,  kicks to the face and body blows, and loads of low frequency material that our sub woofers may not always pick up or fail to translate accurately.   Products such as the Clark Synthesis Platinum transducer is more sensitive to small nuances such as foot steps or another player right behind you on the race track with a souped up Ferrari ready to blow you away at the finish line.    Without a couple wired & bolted up Clarks  in your setup you are probably missing half the sensory experience in Gaming.
